The Printing Department

"Write it in a book and send it unto the churches ..." Rev. 1:11

Jesus' commandment of "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel" has resounded in the hearts of saints for centuries. It is a commission that we take quite seriously at Christian Temple. Our church family is conscience of being a light to a dark generation in our daily lives; whether is be while we're about our daily business, in the marketplaces, on the job or at the park with our families - we want to be about the Father's business and be a testimony for His namesake in all that we do.

Pastor Rob Coones and his companion have been around the world proclaiming the Gospel and are acutely aware of the constant need for Gospel literature around the world. Being sensitive to the need of brothers working in faraway fields and the need for literature to give to new converts, or booklets to ministers that long for a deeper understanding, Brother Rob established a printing department at Christian Temple Church. With the help of the brethren, sisters and even the children, Christian Temple Church has been producing Gospel literature in different languages to assist those who are active on the mission field in being able to hand out doctrinally sound truths from the Word of God. Christian Temple is annually sending out hundreds upon thousands of tracts and booklets in English, Swahili and French free of charge to those who have a desire to learn more about our Savior.

The process of getting a tract into the hands of the lost or needy around the world is a long and tedious undertaking; the burden is shared by all from the men to the children in the church family. The brethren purchased an image setter and computer in order to burn the plates for the printing press. Brother Rob operates the printing press and has been overseeing the training of other brethren as printing apprentices. After being printed, the literature is sent to the cutter- operated by one of the brethren, the page is cut to size and then sent to the folder. The brethren have been trained in on several aspects of the printing department, each having a gift and desire to master the many tasks it takes to properly run the printing department.

After being printed, cut and folded the literature is taken to the ladies offices to be proofed for smudges, color blotches and misprints. Each page is examined and if necessary trimmed or refolded by hand. After being checked the tracts or booklets are counted by hand- the children enjoy being a part of this task and have counted and stacked thousands of tracts to be taken and shrink wrapped.

The commission of sharing the Gospel of Christ can be as simple as being a testimony in the workplace or as tedious as running a printing operation- in either case the Word of God is going forth and  the Gospel is being preached!

Each booklet and tract is carefully examined and folded, trimmed and counted by hand. This picture shows a sister collating a book for assembly and stapling.

The literature is carted from one building to another with eager young assistants wanting to be partakers in world evangelism!
