Camp Meeting 2009

II Corinthians 13:5 "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"

Each year Camp Meeting proves to be an exciting time of fellowship with the body of Christ and communion with the Spirit of God. Camp Meeting 2009 began on Wednesday, May 20th and ran nightly and concluded on Sunday night, May 24th. This year, as with previous years, the Lord had a revelational message that was shared point by point, line upon line throughout the services.

Brother Rob Coones was the meeting's opening speaker on Wednesday, asking the church family to girded in faith with the expectation of miracles for deliverance, healing and faith. The Lord stressed that we should stop and listen for His voice.

This year, the visiting speakers included the pastor of Grace Temple Church, Brother Michael Beachy, Rev. Jesse Shutes, the pastor of Word of Praise Assembly in Humboldt, Tennessee, Brother Jimmy Kirk of Monroe, Georgia and Pastor Willie Wright of Kentucky. Special highlights included the wedding ceremony of Brother Atlee and Patsy Beachy, as well as a dedication service on Sunday morning of Brother Jimmy Kirk's granddaughter.

On Saturday the youth group hosted "PASSPORT TO MISSIONS", an event teaching children about missionaries and the persecution of Christians around the globe. Hosting a collection of seven exhibits, the youth group and church members set up booths displaying cultural foods, music, clothing and missionaries from the countries of Romania, Germany, Africa (focusing on Kenya), India, Colombia and China, culminating with a white cross bearing an American flag. The white cross - representing America - had headlines of current news stapled to it with words such as Marriage, Family, Life, and Truth as examples of the present day persecution and crucifixion of godly values in America. Children and adults alike were made aware of the cost of religious freedoms that many brothers and sisters in Christ are facing around the world, and were encouraged to prayerfully support the ministers who sacrifice for the sake of the gospel. Brother Rob exhorted the congregation that the Lord has spoke to him of the coming persecution to America. He believed the choice of theme for the day was a confirmation to the recent sermons being brought forth by the Spirit of God.

On Sunday evening, by the leading of the Lord, Brother Willie Wright opened up the service to a time of testimonies and gave everyone an opportunity to witness and testify of the supernatural power of God working in their lives throughout the year and during camp meeting. Many in attendance stood up to praise God for deliverance, miraculous healings, reconciliation, as well as those who testified of being delivered from spirits of bitterness, jealousy and some from the addiction of tobacco and other substances. The Lord moved mightily during altar call service with the laying on of hands. Each night visitors left the services with the overcoming power of the holy ghost evidently working in their lives, homes and families!
