Autumn Camp Meeting 2009

II Corinthians 13:5 "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"

Autumn Camp Meeting 2009 began on October 28th and ended on November 1st. The opening service was delivered by Pastor Rob Coones the sermon was a timely message exhorting and encouraging the church family to be in prayer and ready to stand as a strength to others during camp meeting. In preparation for the church services, many members of the church family and youth group fasted the week of camp meeting and through the Saturday activities. The Thursday night message was brought by Christian Temple member, Brother Jonathon Lambert.

The church family always looks forward to the camp meeting services. In many ways, Camp Meeting is a family reunion amongst the family of God. A time of fellowship, spiritual growth and renewal. On Friday night, Brother George Pike III was asked to minister in music and Word; he took his text from the Romans 13. Brother Pike spoke of going through the storms of life and finding your purpose in life. He edified the youth saying that he remembers being a young man and that his heart goes out to the youth; he encouraged them to make their purpose in life for the Lord and to be a strength to the ministry.

Each year we set aside a day of our Autumn Camp Meeting to have activities for the children; this year was no exception! The youth group and small children alike had games, activities, piņata, scavenger hunts, relay races and a derby car race for the young and young of heart! The days activities ended with making smores and singing hymns around a bon fire.

Sunday morning was the last church service of Autumn Camp Meeting 2009. Several guest singers and musicians ministered in music and some were asked to testify about what the Lord was doing in their lives. Brother Kenny Smith testified and exhorted the church families to press in and do away with worldly lusts. He spoke about "tightening the reigns" and not allowing worldly influences into our homes and lives. Brother Kenny was impressed by the Lord to have special prayer with the church for the salvation of loved ones and specifically asked the congregation to pray for the salvation of Brother Rob's son.
The closing camp meeting  message was delivered by Brother Rob who preached from Revelation 22, ministering about knowing who you are in Christ and having headship in the body of Christ. He spoke of the Lord making a conclusion of all things and living in the last days.
